Excellent Game for many ages! Feb 10, 2010 I bought this as a Christmas present for my 9 year old daughter. We took it to a party and enjoyed it with ages 6-13. They all loved it and it spurred two to ask for it for themselves. The pace is good and can be adjusted to many age levels. It also can be made more difficult for parents to play and be challenged with their kids. I'm really happy that I bought it. It is challenging and makes them think and plan their moves. Very durable and can be set up quickly and easily by kids. Good buy!
Fun fuel for the brain Jan 02, 2010 My wife was using this tool as part of cognitive therapy and when I was invited to play it with her, I was hooked. It's a fun way to combine creating thinking, visualization, and fun in an intuitive game for adults and kids. Being gifted with excellent spatial visualization, I used to help my wife on her moves. But since she has gotten VERY good at it, we now are getting cutthroat ("No, you can't take that move back!"). I still often win but just barely.
But we have a lot of fun with it and her therapists find it an excellent tool for children with learning disabilities (Non-verbal Learning Disorders, especially) as well as all children to play to help them visualize things in a non-threatening, fun environment.
When we have kids, they will be playing this game along with other classics like Scrabble, Monopoly, Chutes-n-Ladders, etc. as they grow up. And I wouldn't hesitate to give this as a gift to a child (and play it with them).
And I will have more competition. But that's okay...it's good to keep the brain muscle tuned and in shape.
I gave it 4/5 on durability because there are a number of pieces to it (about 70 excluding the board) and you really don't want to lose anything but the tokens. A good suggestion is that if you can't keep things in the original box, put the pieces in a zip-lock bag. Maybe they should include a drawstring pouch to help players keep things organized better.

Fantastic game for the whole family Mar 14, 2009 This game was a Christmas present and has been a huge hit for our whole family. Our children are 7, 5, and 3, the older two can play the game independently, and the youngest can participate. The greatest thrill about the game is not just all three children can play, but that my husband and I actually enjoy playing. Beyond that figuring out the challenges of gathering the treasures really uses your brain from young to old. It's been a great addition to our family game night and would be highly recommended by all in our family.
Great visual perception and thinking ahead game Mar 03, 2009 Good value and hours of fun trying to solve. I has its rewards and frustrations, but keeps you returning to play.
A lot of fun for all the family ! Feb 24, 2009 That is a very good toy! Teaches strategy, patience to the yongest... and the oldest!
And we have a lot of fun!
Good choice!
