A'right, we'll call it a draw Dec 13, 2005

First of all, I love Monty Python, and "Holy Grail" is one of my favorite MP films. The scene with the Black Knight is among my favorites so I was excited when my husband bought me this mini knight for Christmas.
The concept behind the toy is great. However, the execution of that concept is not so great. The limbs of the knight are removable and can be reattached with velco. Sounds like a simple task, but it isn't. I pulled off one arm to see how easy it would be to reattach it and it took me about five minutes to get the hole and the arm to line up correctly. The velco does its job a little too well and makes reattaching the limbs a challenge. It's now sitting on a shelf in my office with all limbs firmly attached.
The doll includes a sword that ranks pretty high on the cheese-o-meter. Its made of silver fabric covering filmsy cardboard. Two layers of fabric are used for the crosspiece and the layers have already started seperating from one another.
The Black Knight is a great item for any MP collector but I wouldn't recommend it for young children. I'm in my 30s and I can only image the difficulty a young child may have with trying to reattach limbs. Overall, I give the toy three stars - great collectable to sit on a shelf but not very good for "play time".

I just got this toy for my birthday and I love it. The toy is great with it's removable appendages-which stays true to the movie- but when I received it, the voice box didn't work. This is definitely because of cheap manufacturing in general, but its not a collectors item...so play with it! Even with the few errors, this is definitely a must have for fans. : ) Also, PLEASE make a Knight-who-says-Ni plush so I can engage both in pitched combat!

If you are a Monty Python fan, what's there not to like about this toy? I struggled with the ratings on this....fun? I don't sit down and play with it but it makes me smile every time I see it. Educational? I think everyone should have some education in humor, and while it doesn't appeal to all, Monty Python and the Holy Grail was on the list of "must see's" for my children. Durable--that one was easy, yes, it falls apart as promised. Overall rating? Not enough stars to capture that!
I don't think this is a toy for very young kids, but if they are old enough to laugh at the movie, they are old enough to have this toy. Makes a great stocking stuffer.

When I ordered the item, it was in stock. I even received an email telling me it was ready to ship. Then eventually received an email that it was out of stock, when on your website it showed still in stock. What gives?
